Melaka - World Heritage Site!!

Mom and Dad asked if i would be keen to join them for a short Melaka trip and i said yes (who wouldn't when i get a chance to ride!!)

We started rather early but still left SGP at about 7am. We took a real slow ride to Melaka. As usual, i topped up at GP Petronas and this time, my goal was to try to get to Melaka and back in ONE TANK!!!

So i topped up till it can take no more.... Off we went and i rode about 140km/h average. Nice pace.... along the way..mom took a few videos of us riding. We stopped at Pagoh as we wanted mom to stretch her legs but it seems like she did not really need it! That's good news... we are also "training" her for a longer ride to Penang this Easter LWE. I hope she will be able to enjoy rather than taking this as a chore/pain...

Oh yeah.. Fernie...u'll need to get used to longer rides too!!! But i know you'll be fine.

Got to the Melaka and had a look at Kings Hotel which is pretty far from the city but near the Ayer Keroh Toll (nearer the toll than Jonker Street) Ok place to stay but we had to ride into town in our gear so a little sianz....

We got to Nancy's Kitchen and the foods is really really good!! The Nonya Kuih, Buah Keluak, Popiah, Kuih Pie Ti, Nonya Chap Chai.... etc etc etc...

Next time we will buy the Nonya Chang!! Should be damn good too!!

As usual... always on the look out for nice bikes!! Thi sis a well taken care of "Antique" Its a Honda.... wonder if the owner rides it!

This is the near the Christ Church Melaka - honestly... i dont even know what this place is called but a lot of tourists gathered there with bazaars and shops around...

Of course, the Church......trying to be arty farty...

Another Arty Farty Shot of the sights........ all with a Sony Ericsson C902

Another angle of the place.

Nice or not har???the Phone Cam is not too bad with the right lightings, i guess.....

This is one of the adjacent streets along Jonker Street.... i guess they sell the paper cuttings and they used it to paint on the outside of the walls.

Jonker Street...starts in the evening and plenty of things to see... reminds me of Taipei's night markets... just nice... when Fernie is in Taipei when we were in Melaka this time round (she is there with her brother for a friend's wedding!!)

Welcome to Jonker Street!!

A Performance that is to take place in the evening... we did not have the heart to stay and watch since we were in riding gear.... bleah...

This is the Hotel i always wanted to stay - The Baba House hotel!!! Highly recommended for anyone who wants a cheap but culturally beautiful place to put up for the night! I love this place!!

Ample Parking at the back!! Damn Cool!!

Hotel Puri.... another alternative?? Its just across from Baba House!!

This is one of the restaurants... wonder how is food there but the decorations is really nice!! I feel Nonya/Baba/Peranakan!!!
Because of this place... i am thinking.... should Shunfu be decorated as such??? Hmmmmm....... comments???
Mom actually has videos..... i'll see if i can figure how to post them and add them here.... otherwise........ where is my wife??? Oh Yah.. she is in Taipei.....!!!

303 Shunfu Road - Our new home!!!

We started looking for a home and viewed a couple of units mostly in Clementi. Both 5 rm units and they are SGD475K and SGD600K!!!

Then Jane knew i was looking for a place to view and she highlighted to me this sweet place which was owned by her friend, Fenny.

Fenny claims that i have interviewed her during my time at Charterhouse, but i really have no clue if i did. Hey she was in Operations and i wasn't doing Ops then.....

When Fern and i first visited this place, i was shown Facebooks pics of the place and we thought to ourselves..... why not...just kay poh go have a look and see if there is anything worth buying...

We always thought... let's wait till Jan/Febuary 2010 and hope that prices will hit rock bottom....possibly.....

But when we got there... this view greeted us.........

Walked in and to your left was the kitchen.

The dining area.... noted the designer finishing

And the balcony.... a nice chill out area... i think i will like it....

I am gonna stop posting pics of the place and will invite everyone who even saw this blog for the house warming. But even if you dont see this blog.... if u are important enough.... i'll invite you.....

So give me a shout out!! wahahhha

KL Food Fest!!!

Once again.. i am back in KL!!

Kien Hian gave me a call on Thursday night and asked if i am coming up!! Hey...why not??? He even tempted me with watching the "game of the league 2009" Man United vs Liverpool!! Fernie couldnt go with me as she is in Shanghai for a flight....

So i set off at 6am and got there at 67 (lok chat!! Vulgar hor??) But yeah.. that 67 is Kien Hian's home... i love that place!!

Of course the day started with plenty of food.... this place is called Paramount or near Paramount in Petaling Jaya.

Th place looks dingy but serves excellent food!!!

U see the Chee Cheong Fun??? Its Penang Chee Cheong fun..... it actually has shrimp paste in the Chee Cheong Fun... its very very good... i actually ta pow-ed 5 packets back to Singapore for MiL, FiL and my papa and mummy.....of course Fernie too!! The assam laksa is also good and the yong tau fu is just so so....

On the ground...jostling for place and watching the stalls getting busy!!

Lunch.... we went to Khanna's but this is the worst Indian rice i have had in KL... the other two they brought be before are a lot better.... so everyone can give Khanna a miss....

Sneaky shot of Heng..... otherwise that guy is more elusive then a snow leopard that is mating.... blardy hell... he is almost impossible to capture on camera.

See... the normal person like Hean Lim.... good guy.. always find time whenever i am there.

Kien Hian also trying to do the Heng....

there... Heng and his elusiveness...... but give him chance.. this weekend.. he was actually feeling under the weather.

Shawni actually recommended this duck stall... omg... its very very good... tastes like the Dian Xiao Er's duck... good!!! We had bits of the duck during the ManU vs Liverpool!!

We went to KL city for breakkie next morning and Kien Hian brought me to this pork roti place.... its pretty good... but living in KL is not cheap... this bugger costs MYR 7.50.... i know its not a lot in Singapore but... it is spenny for anyone lest to say the man on the street in KL... i feel the pinch .. even for me.....

Guess who???

After the breakkie, they brought me for a second round of breakkie where we had Jalan Loke Yew's Wan Ton Noodle.... okie lah... nothing much to shout about. Then Kien Hian brought me to this place called Astria mall.... or something to the similiar name.... we ate this road side Beancurd and soya drink.... in Gula Melaka.... nice nice....

Kien Hian bought this for his sister a very nice Rojak.... i tried it when i was about to leave for home and i thought its really good too!!

I will be back in KL soon.....
btw... Man Utd LOST to LIVERPOOL ===> 1-4.............!!! Go Reds!!!! Torres, Gerrard, Aurelio and Dossena..................

Guess what came in today......????

Ernie Bell's skidplates arrived when the delivery guy came knocking on our doors at 945pm!!!! Was wondering who came at this hour and it was definately a pleasant surprise.

These plates are quality and i always support a private business rather than a conglomerate...... i like to reward someone who makes an effort to contribute to society positively.

Not sure if you can see the business card but....will give details at the bottom of this post.

Motorcycles are my life............. NOT my Lifestyles......... Well said Ernie!!
