The day started at 5am when i woke Fernie up, she got home from her flight just at 10pm the night before. She was really tired but was determined to get to KL by 9-10am. I knew she is going to get tired during the ride and i also wanted her to have a comfortable ride up. But she managed to endure the ride till Ayer Keroh R&R where to took a break for a quick breakfast of Mee Goreng and Milo Kosong.
We pressed on for Kien Hian's place and i was surprised with Fernie that certain roads in KL she remembered ("Dear....look for Damansara and go towards TTDI!!").... that kept us on the right track. We got there to be greeted with the familiar view.
This is Kien Hian's beautiful place in Damansara, KL easy to get there and i believe it is a very welcoming place.
This is the huge room we always put up in and the place is great! I have always been tempted to purchase a place like this and it would have cost us MYR 700k together with the extensive renovation that is done to the place.
This is Kien Hian, my true "heng tai". he is someone who never disappoint, he has never expected anything from anyone neither does he expect anything in return. I keep telling Fernie that he is one of those people in this world that we could do with more. I know Fernie agrees with me on this......
The day started with our usual breakfast this time round and i was grateful to Kien Hian to bring to a nearby place for this BKT aka Bak Kut Teh which is just 5mins drive. This style of BKT is similiar to the one i brought Fernie to, near Permas Jaya, Johor or the Pet shop where dad buys our cats' pet food.
The BKT - Bak Kut Teh we had... not too bad...cant complain as we were a little tired.
Every item in this claypot is charged separately.... the enoki mushrooms, the button mushroom.....etc etc is itemised....
The Trotter is pretty well done but of course, it could have been fattier!!! Wahahah..... i know i know.... we need to be healthy... or healthier....
Went back to Kien Hian's home and we took this photo... yeah yeah... i wanted to take a few more shots of the new bike!!!
Of course we fell asleep soon after when we got back to the room at about 11am-ish, it was definately cosy and thus we did not have any trouble drifting into a deep sleep.
Kien Hian woke us up at about 3pm and we got ready to meet his friends from work. We met his senior, Patrick or Pat who is a trader in Kien Hian's line (oh yah... Kien Hian's works in a Rubber trading firm). I reckon he earns heaps but it was definately great meeting someone like him. We also met Shawn that afternoon where we went to a pub in Petaling Jaya.
The guys sat down while i had a beer and some finger food together with Fernie. Guess what they ordered????? It was only 4pm and i was shocked when i heard............"Get me a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black!!".... i was thinking wtf??? drinking hard liquor at tea???
The three guys went on to finish the whole bottle by 6pm, that's when Shawn needed to go to another engagement with his family. This is madness!!! Shawn insisted on ooting the bill which came up to MYR800+++ **Gulps!!!**
Kien Hian admitted later that he is starting to stay away from heavy drinking as his body is starting to protest.... saw some of these Liver Detox pills on his dinner table at his home.
For Fark's Sake......... Kien Hian... take care of yourself!!!
We went to Du Viet for dinner where we met Heng Hooi... another "pig dog friend"..... whom i met together with Kien Hian in Sydney. Another one of those friends where with every effort, he would make time for me. Another "heng tai"...... yes Heng.... u are my heng tai also!!!
Yeah i know he looks like an indian brother..... but i really suspect he is part indian!!! ..pssst....He's chinese as chinese man can be.....
This is a vietnamese pancake which i like but dunno what it is called. It is supposed to be a lot BIGGER... but it'll do for this time......since this is KL and not Vietnam.......... apart from this we also had the dry vermicelli with bbq chicken/beef (ok~~good) and Fernie had the Special Beef Noodle Soup (which she did not mention very much about!)
Du Viet.............. ok... but probably wont go there again...... even though the lady boss tried to "bribe" me with a fresh fruit platter at the end of our meal when they did not have to....nice gesture though.
Fernie and i at Du Viet... hope the ambience can be caught in the pic... but i guess we were just glad being able to do things together and having each other's company!!
We ended the night early...... i did not even watched my Liverpool game though they lost 2-0 to Middlesborough... i guess this season is once again lost to Manure.....(btw..that is Kien Hian's team!!)
We slept early because the next morning, we needed to rush to Kulai to meet with the rest for the Desaru day trip. James left an sms to let me know of the details and i rang him back to firm up details. Dad also gave me the updates that night. So we were good, slept early so as to stay fresh for the day ride the next day.
.........................
We woke at 530am and got packed and showered...... i went up to Kien Hian's room at about 6am and guess what?? ...........that Heng Tai of mine is already up waiting to bring us for breakfast before we take off on our road trip. ( See what i mean when i say where got people these days do this for you????............make sure you have a full tummy before you leave his home...)
After Kien Hian brought us to the Roti Canai place... we had Thosai, Roti with telor and bawang... had our milo kosongs.....and we went back to his place to get ready of our ride to Kulai which is close to 280km from Kien Hian's place..... we were scheduled to meet the rest at 11am.
Took the above pic as our parting shot.... "brother.... thanks for everything once again....!!"
